Michigan Tax Conference Starts Wednesday

The Laurel Manor in Livonia is the site for the first Michigan Tax Conference.  The two day conference is devoted to state and local tax with an emphasis on Michigan taxes.  The featured national speakers are Paul H. Frankel and Richard D. Pomp.  The conference is jointly sponsored by the Michigan Department of Treasury, the State Bar of Michigan and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants.

The national speakers will be followed by the Honorable Andy Dillon, Speaker of the Michigan House of Representatives.  The new Michigan Business Tax will be the focus of attention although the future of the new use tax on services will be on everyone's mind.

I will be at the conference both days.  A lot of valuable information should be forthcoming on the Michigan Business Tax as well as the use tax on services.

Stay tuned.
